About Amy Margolis
I am an integrative therapist who believes all people are unique individuals who already have the answers within themselves. I also believe it is my mission to share anorexic recovery with all women, so they can live with more freedom, authenticity, confidence, and joy.
Who I am
As I shared, I am an LCSW, voice actor, published author, wife, and mom. Personally, I got into recovery from anorexia at age 19. It was that healing journey that led me to become a therapist. I thought, If I can help others as I was helped, and make a living at it, that would be a dream come true — and it has been. You know you’re in the right profession when your work doesn’t feel like work, and that has been one of my biggest blessings.
It’s also my healing from anorexia that made me realize almost every woman I know struggles with some degree of an Anorexic Mindset — a pervasive way of thinking that robs them of enjoying their lives and showing up powerfully, all because of a perceived flaw and/or a number on the scale. Most don’t even realize how much happier, freer, and more abundant their lives could be because they’ve accepted this internal critical monologue as the norm — as a part of their very identity. Their bodies are never quite right; therefore, life can never be quite right. Happiness always lies just around the corner — when they’re perfect.
And there is NO perfect — so they never get there. But they can’t fully be here, either.
It was this realization that prompted me to write my book, Here’s the Memo!™ – A Life Guide for Women, and to start putting out my courses. I truly believe it’s my mission to share anorexic recovery with all women — so they can identify it, challenge it, and transform it in their own lives, and live with more freedom, authenticity, confidence, and joy.

Therapeutic Philosophy
In my practice, I am an integrative therapist who believes that all people are unique individuals — and that they already hold the answers within themselves. A good therapist’s job is to create a safe space, ask the right questions, and serve as a supportive facilitator.
I draw on psychodynamic techniques and, when appropriate, utilize EMDR to help clients identify and heal old wounds that are impacting their present lives. I also employ behavioral and cognitive-behavioral interventions to help clients rewire old thinking patterns and make the changes necessary to become the person they aspire to be.
Positive psychology, EFT, ACT, IFS, Somatics, spirituality, and the mind-body connection all inform my practice.
